Bio

Donna is an actor whose acting career began in 1987 in an Art’s Club production for which she was recognized with a Jessie Award for ‘Most Promising Newcomer.’ Soon after, she played the lead role in Rosie’s Café by Rick Shiomi, which was the first Asian Canadian professional theatre group to tour across Canada. Since then, she’s enjoyed an extensive acting career in stage, film and TV with over 70 IMDB credits. Last season, she had a recurring guest star role as Hannah Green on the TV series THE 100, and was last seen on the movie screen in Deadpool.  Since 2013, Donna has been the Artistic Director of Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre and produced the hit show Empire of the Son, written by Tetsuro Shigematsu. This year the UBCP/ACTRA Women’s Committee awarded Donna an International Women’s Day 2016 Honouree in recognition of her outstanding contribution to causes of social justice; she also received the Vancouver Now Representation and Inclusion Award for demonstrating commitment and leadership to building inclusivity in Vancouver’s theatre industry.
