Joanne Soroka is a textile artist born in Quebec and based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She studied at McGill University, the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, and the Edinburgh College of Art, and now teaches at the University of Edinburgh. Her work has been exhibited in North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan, and can be found in a variety of public and private collections around the world. She has run her own handmade textiles company, Ivory Tapestries, since 1987. She is a professional member of the Society of Scottish Artists and has received many prizes and grants throughout her over forty-year career.
