Bio
Joe Naito was an architect who practiced for over forty years in Edmonton. He was born and raised in Kelowna, BC, and studied architecture at the University of British Columbia, graduating in 1957. He practiced privately through the firm Sinclair & Naito Architects Limited in Edmonton, and worked on projects throughout Alberta including the University of Alberta Fine Arts Centre, the Alberta Environmental Centre, and the Alberta Vocational Centre in Lac La Biche. He also designed the Hewnorra International Airport in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia. In 1978, he was named a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and he was awarded a Life Membership in the Alberta Association of Architects in 1999, the year he moved back to Kelowna. He passed away peacefully in Kelowna in 2010.
