Lotus Miyashita is a freelance artist and graphic designer based in Vancouver. She holds diplomas from Vancouver Community College and Emily Carr College of Art & Design in Art in Merchandising and Graphic Design. Her early design work includes The Bulletin/Geppo in the early 1990s and the 1994 print directory Japanese Canadians in the Arts, and she worked for a number of arts and cultural organizations around Vancouver, including the Powell Street Festival and the Presentation House Gallery in North Vancouver, while beginning her freelance design practice. Currently, her work includes creating notecards, magnets, jewellery, and other original artwork which can often be found at Japanese Canadian community events.
