Rene Ohashi is an award-winning cinematographer based in Toronto. After receiving his BA in Film Production from York University, Ohashi has gone on to work as Director of Film Photography on such films and television series as the 1985 Anne of Green Gables miniseries, The Wonder Years, Nikita, and The War Between Us. Recent credits include Wait Till Helen Comes, Forsaken, and Sneaky Pete, as well as a number of other feature films. He is a member of both the Canadian and American Societies of Cinematographers, and has won awards from both societies for his outstanding work.
In each project he works on, Rene is always exploring and pushing the limits of its technical and conceptual parameters to enhance and draw out the meaning of each scene through photography and light. He is particularly known for his masterful use of natural lighting.
